Covid-19 attending workshops

In Person Workshops

Between March and July, baking workshops in person did not take place due to COVID-19. Every person booked onto a workshop or in receipt of a voucher was contacted and advised they could book onto a workshop their choice at a later date.  Many people have taken online classes during lockdown. These will definitely continue. I really appreciate everyone’s support.

I am delighted to announce that workshops will recommence in August.  You can book with full confidence going forward. Should any workshops have to be postponed due to a change in government guidelines, attendees will be notified well in advance and allowed to move their booking.

Initially, I will focus on scheduling workshops to fulfil bookings that have had to be put on hold. I will arrange mutually agreeable dates to those waiting for a class. Please visit the classes page for information on classes

Covid 19 Protocol

From August 2020, running of the workshops will change to take into account the need for additional hygiene, social distancing and safety of both students and myself. Initially, the workshops will be held in the garden taking advantage of a large tent for shelter.

Going forward, the class sizes will be kept small, in order to implement a 1m+ distance rule. Participants should be from the same family group or bubble.  The distance between students will not be less than 1m.

Holding the class in the garden under shelter will ensure there is plenty of ventilation. This will be reviewed as the year progresses.

Handwashing and personal sanitisation

Hand sanitiser will be available both on entry to the premises. Participants will be encouraged to wash their hands regularly. There is a toilet dedicated for use by participants only not located in the main building.

Face masks

I do not require our participants to wear face masks. Participants are, of course, most welcome to wear a face mask if they so wish.

Food and bread handling

I will take extra precautions in addition to the high standards of hygiene already employed .

As bread reaches very high temperatures in the oven, it will be free of any contamination once baked, whatever the handling and process to that point. All baked bread will be handled solely by me and packed for students in paper bags.

I ask any participant attending to confirm they have not had the onset of any COVID-19 symptoms or knowingly been in contact with anyone displaying any symptoms within the preceding 14 days. It will be drawn to participants attention before any workshop starts that all those attending  are declaring that they can satisfy these conditions.
